Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. Parents are Manny James, and Patty James. He is the son of a Nigerian father and a Caucasian mom. After graduating at Sanderson High School, in 2010, he attended Wake Forest University and obtained the Bachelor's degree in Economics. James became famous when his appearance on The Bachelorette as a reality TV celebrity. James was chosen in the year 2020 to be the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021.
